In importing of product with seed, as the exporter forwards required document(certificate of seed quarantine) together with product, the importer does not require reporting to their customs office separately. Upon arrival of the product at importer’s customs office, it is forwarded to quarantine office and when seed is quarantined it is noticed to the importer. Comparing with general products, the product contains seed takes longer customs clearance time because of seed quarantine period(normally 3~4 days, however it may vary by country). |
